Visions of Spring

Have you ever smelled a specific fragrance that brought to mind different images of what that smell reminded you of?  Maybe its nostalgic, like our Momma’s Kitchen fragrance that always reminds you of pies in my grandma’s oven, or like Southern Hospitality reminding you of warm summer evenings sitting outside on your parents’ old porch.  Or maybe a smell just reminds you of a relaxing scene or place, like an open field of grass and wildflowers.  Whatever comes to mind when you smell any of our Antique Candle Works candles, our most popular spring candles always inspire us with warm and sunny visions of what the season holds!

  1. Back Roads

An outdoor, fresh woody bouquet with top notes of ozone, fresh leafy greens, lemon and apple combined with bright cedar, jasmine, lavender, violet and lilac highlighted with a soft musk.

This fragrance takes you back to that old country road on a warm spring evening, taking a ride to enjoy the sun with someone special.  It brings to mind images of sunbeams shining through bright green leaves, sprigs of wild lavender lining the overgrown ditch, and hints of mulberry trees poking out of the tree line, almost ready to bloom for sweet summer berries.  In my vision, there’s music on the radio, the car windows are down, and we’re singing on the top of our voices.

  1. Clean Cotton

A wonderful crisp clean linen scent with just a kiss of fruit.

Spring Cleaning!  Clean Cotton is the perfect scent for the freshness that comes with the spring season.  This fragrance tells the story of a warm morning, sun breaking through the screen door on your home.  You can hear the morning birds singing to their babies.  White bath towels are out on the clothesline, and freshly picked daisies are in a vase of cool, clear water on a newly cleaned table.  Soft linens are being folded on the couch, and the sweetness that accompanies a newly cleaned room fills the air.

  1. Lavender

A soothing blend with top notes of calming lavender and fresh ozone with soft touches of woody undertones.

One of our most soothing fragrances takes the mind on a short vacation from reality to a breezy morning by a cottage in the country at the end of a stunning lavender field that stretches far into the distance.  You can see the rows of bright violet flowers curve and wind around hills, and the breeze carries notes of greenery from a neighboring wood under the aroma of lavender.  The sun reflects against the bright green stems that highlights the little buds of each flower, and your fingertips graze the blooms as you walk along the rows.

  1. Sweet Lemon

Clean, crisp lemon with light floral hints of geranium and rose.

With our newest fragrance, I envision making homemade lemonade with my grandmother on a warm spring afternoon.  We’ve been outside all day, tending to her vegetable garden and playing in the sun.  She has colorful geraniums planted just outside the kitchen windows, which she leaves open to let the breeze in.  We squeeze fresh lemons, and the crisp, tart scent mixes with the flowers outside.  The juice is mixed into a pitcher with sugar, and we enjoy the sweet, refreshing drink out on the balcony.

  1. Wildflowers

Freshly picked wildflowers, pansies, sunflowers and lilacs.

By the old train tracks in the country that runs along a clear creek, countless wildflowers reach above the overgrown grass and wrap around the stream.  Small blooms of yellow and white trace the unused rails and dot the bright grass, while tall lilac bushes are scattered wildly along the tree line.  A little adventurer and her sister balance themselves on the rail beams as they pass through, occasionally stepping down to pick the loveliest flowers to surprise their mother with.  A breeze makes the wildflowers dance, and the girls gather up their bouquet and continue on the tracks.

These are our visions of spring that we see with each of our most popular spring candles.  Each soothing scent creates a stunning image that is reflected in each ingredient of the fragrances, and I can’t get enough of them!
